Hon. Victor Abang Congratulates Rt. Hon. Chris Etta on His Emergence as APC Chairman, Cross River State.
The Member representing Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Abang, PhD, has extended warm congratulations to Rt. Hon. Chris Etta on his election as the substantive Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State Chapter.
Rt. Hon. Etta emerged victorious at the State Congress of the party held yesterday, as part of the nationwide APC congresses conducted across the majority of states of the federation. His emergence followed the overwhelming support of delegates who entrusted him with the responsibility of leading the party in Cross River State.
Hon. Abang eulogized the leadership qualities of Rt. Hon. Etta, who is also his predecessor in the National Assembly, describing him as eminently qualified and the most suitable candidate for the position. He commended the delegates for their discerning choice, noting that Etta is vibrant, result-oriented, and purpose-driven in the pursuit of democratic ideals and party cohesion.
The federal lawmaker further expressed appreciation to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, for the confidence reposed in Rt. Hon. Etta, describing him as a proud and worthy son of the Boki community. According to Hon. Abang, “The emergence of Rt. Hon. Etta aligns with the Governor’s vision of inclusive governance, intelligent leadership recruitment, and accelerated economic development in Cross River State.”
Rt. Hon. Chris Etta, a two-term member of the House of Representatives and former Chairman of the National Lottery Commission, brings to the office of State Chairman extensive administrative experience and dynamic leadership capacity. His election marks a significant step toward strengthening party unity and consolidating democratic governance in the state.
