Hon. Shaba Ibrahim MHR; visits Igu cave (Usi kwo kwo) in Kogi LGA


 

….makes tourism calls

Lokoja/Kogi Reps Member, over the weekend visited the Igu cave popularly known as “Usi kwo kwo”, an attraction and heritage site in his hometown of the constituency (Kogi-KKF).

He went there in company of an entourage of constituents. The intention was to look at the place, appreciate it and see how it can be developed.

The lawmaker noted how the place can be developed to become a tourist attraction, noting further how the tourism industry is one gold yet untapped by the State and the nation at large.

He said plans are already on ground to start its development by way of making access road in and around the cave with its environs.

“This cave has a very rich history which every son and daughter of this town is very proud of.

“We are going to make some access roads (steps) around the place.

“We will put some sort of structure in the place for tourists to seat on. We will also as a necessity, put some measure around for security,” the lawmaker said.

The Honourable Member of the Ninth House of Representatives appreciated the natives, most especially His Royal Majesty; Alh. Abdulrazaq Isakoto for maintaining the place, as according to him, it is a place of pride and heritage not only for the area it is domiciled but also for the entire Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency.

He promised to be visiting the place frequently with a bid to see how the place can be developed, considering the heritage value of the place, especially the great Igu cave, being a site of attraction.
