…..appeals to the public for fair criticism of his representation
Member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Shaba Ibrahim MHR, today, Friday, hosted his media team.
In the meeting which took place in his Lokoja residence, the lawmaker commended the media team for a job well done. He also used the opportunity to counsel them to see the opposition as their own brothers and sisters in the constituency. He warned against hostility against any fellow constituent or anyone who does not share in his view or pattern of representation and lawmaking ideology.
He charged the members of the media team on the premium place of freedom of opinion in every democracy, hence, he called for better ways of engaging the opposition rather than the use of aggression or any means that does not portray his open-handedness nature, himself as a friend of all persons regardless of social status, and determination to take very constituent as one regardless of the political or ideological leaning of anyone in the constituency.
He also used the occasion to appeal to the media community and members of the public to while also exercising freedom of press on print and non-print media, freedom of opinion on social media; be fair in their criticism of his representation, as his doors are constantly open to ideas that will indeed help make the constituency a better one, especially at a time like this that he is the representative of the constituency.
