Another big weight, HON. EL-SHETTIMA PETER AGBOGUN,
The Kaigama of Lokoja, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party.
Hon. El – Shettima in a letter dated 12/7/2025 gave reasons for dumping the PDP.

NOTICE OF RESIGNATON FROM THE PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP)
With highest regards and respect to you, and Members of PDP, Lokoja, Ward A, and PDP, Lokoja Local Government by extension, I humbly wish to officially inform you of my resignation as member of the PDP with effect from today.
I have been a very loyal and committed member of this party from inception and have also promoted, protected the interest of PDP in every ramification.
Over the years, I have committed my time, energy, resources and sometimes even put my life on the line all in the interest of my party.
I’ve had the privilege to serve as the political leader of Ward A, the very Ward of our leader and father, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, Late Dr. GTN Ajakpo, Chief James Katugwa and many more great and wonderful men and women of our party. I do not take this for granted. These are memories I will take along with me wherever I go.
It is sad to say that recent developments in our party, both at the Ward, Local Government, State and National level have given me cause for concern with the exit of very senior and great fathers and leaders of our Party , like Senator Tunde Ogbeha, it has become necessary for me to chart another political path for myself.
I thank you for the opportunity to serve as a member of PDP Ward A. Thank you.
