The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael has deployed security officers to Odoape Bunu to restore peace as the Joint Military Taskforce intensifies efforts to stamp out Criminality from the area.
He assured the people that the situation is under control and we would not leave any stone unturned.
“Kogi State Government has invested heavily on security matters in Kabba/Bunu LGA and we would not relent until those criminal elements are fished out. Let me assure our good people of Odoape community that they have nothing to fear and that calm and peace would be restore to those affected areas,” Zacchaeus said.
“I also urge the people to cooperate with the security operatives by giving them credible intelligence. We have deployed military, police, hunters and local vigilante to restore peace and we assure our people that we would not relent until those criminal elements are kicked out of our environment.
“It is also important that I use this occasion to intimate our people that many of the issues we had is as a result of the influx of Fulani herdmens passing through the back door to the local government with some connivance of some criminal traditional rulers and that the government is serious in bringing those aiding and abetting those Fulani herdmens in those areas to book,” the chairman added.
Zacchaeus noted that the persistent of those ugly situations is because of the criminal connivance of some traditional rulers who gave out land indiscriminately to total stranger whose origin is not known and that the government is taking the issue very seriously now and that anybody cut in the act will be dealt with decisively.
“What I want to see going forward, is a local government area that will prosper economically through agriculture and other economic activities. I call on the entire leadership of all community heads to make the best of this opportunity to ensure we have peace and prosperity.
Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael thanked the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to peace and security in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
“Because of the incessant insecurity, a divisional police station has be opened in Odoape, more vigilante and local hunters employed in Odoape with adequate essential materials for security operations.
Zacchaeus promised to restore peace to Odoape community, assuring that all those behind the incessant killings in Odoape will not go unpunished.
He charged the military joint taskforce to stamp out criminality from the area without no mercy.
