The last five years of Governor Yahaya Bello administration has been described as what-while, eventful and deserving following the tremendous and empherical human and infrastructural development face lift the state its Citizens had observed.
The head Financial Management Unit of the World Bank Assisted projects, Office of the state Accountant General,Hajia Memunat Ogirimah made the assessment while speaking to Newsmen as part of activities to commemorate the first year anniversary of the Governor second tenure in office in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
She identified the positive impact and roles played by the state Deputy Governor, Elder Edward Onoja Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Asuku Jamiu, the State Accountant General, Alhaji Jibrin Momoh , Directior General Government house administration, Doctor Shaibu Umar Oricha as well as the totality of the “New Direction Team’ for working in tandem with the Governor which resulted to the feats witnessed so far in the state.
Memanat Ogirimah insisted that the Governor passion to reduce hunger, anguish,and unemployment challenges militating against the citizens influenced his decisions and actions to off-set its counter-funding with the World Bank project geared towards allowing the Nigeria Erosion and watershed management project-NEWMAP, Agro processing productivity Enhancement and livelihood improved Support APPEAL -project and Rural Access project to enable them effectively implement it schemes in the state.
She remarked that in the last five years under review the administration of Governor had demonstrated patriotic attention to provide food security, Reform in the civil service which has sanitise the system, securing lives and property of the citizens, affordable health care delivery service, and construction of rural and urban road projects spanning through the length and breadth of the state.
Memunat Ogirimah equally applauded the Governor for the establishment of CONFLUENCE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN OSARA,saying that by establishing the citadel of academic center it will foster development to the area , provide gainful employment opportunities to youth and Women thereby demystifying poverty and idleness among the youth.
She stressed further that the Women folk has received Government support and attention by placing them in a strategic key positions noting that the recent local government council elections that brought Women onboard as vice chairmen, Councils leaders which earned him the appellation of ‘A Goodwill Ambassador of Nigerian Women, being the most Gender Sensitive Governor in Nigeria was desirable.
Memunat Ogirimah, pray God Almighty to continue to equip the Governor with Wisdom, knowledge strength and sound health to enable him pilot the affairs of the state to an enviable hight .
