Group Wants Governor Obaseki To Immortalize Those Killed On Election Day

A Socio Cultural Group, the Benin Solidarity Movement Worldwide, BSM , has called On Governor Godwin Obaseki To immortalize those voters who were killed during the Presidential/NASS Assembly election that took place on Saturday 25th February, 2023.

The group in a release made available to journalists in Benin city and signed by Elder Comrade Curtis Eghosa Ugbo President and
Mrs Esohe Adun Ag. Secretary General, appreciate the Nigeria Police Force for the prompt arrest of the one of the suspects which will eventually lead to the arrest of other gang members involved in this dastardly act of killings and snatching ballot boxes during elections;

“The attention of the Benin Solidarity Movement BSM Worldwide has been drawn to the arrest of one of the suspects that murdered in cold blood one (Festus Idahosa) along side a nursing mother (Mrs Elizabeth Owie) 3-children at their Ogheghe Polling Unit during the Presidential/NASS Assembly election that took place last Saturday 25th February, 2023.”

 

“We want to use this opportunity to call on the Edo State Government to immortalize these dead Hero and Heroine of Democracy and to also ensure that the children and other family members of dead victims (Festus Idahosa and Mrs Elizabeth Owie) are considered for scholarships and job offer as a sign of relief for the lose of their loved ones, we also call on the Edo State Judiciary to speed up the process of Justice for the victims. “

“We also call on the Inspector General of Police(IGP) and the Edo State Police Commissioner to ensure that all those involved are brought to Justice as soon as possible as we continue to watch with keen interest as events unfold.”

We recall that Festus Idahosa and a nursing mother Mrs Elizabeth Owie a mother of 3 children were shot dead at their Ogheghe Polling Unit during the Presidential/NASS Assembly election that took place on Saturday 25th February, 2023.
