The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA is presently attending a stakeholders meeting and launching of the 2020 states Budget transparency report for North Central states at Idrinana hotel lokoja.

In the spirit of the moment, as led by the Honourable commissioner, the stakeholders present at the meeting sang a cheering happy birthday song to celebrate the useful and youthful Governor, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello as he marks his 46th natal day.
In his remarks, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA welcomed all the participants from the 6 North Central states to the confluence of opportunity. He emphasised on the need for states to show transparency in the budgeting process and implementation, which he said must be people centred without any ambiguity.
He further spoke about the strides of Kogi state under Governor Yahaya Bello, where the state was adjudged the best in all the SFTAS assessment indicators amongst the 36 states of the federation and FCT. Due to our financial reforms and reengineering as a state, we now have a sound Fiscal outlook, transparent budgeting process and a sustainable debt management, asiwaju stated.
Asiwaju implore all participants to have a critical and dispassionate deliberation on how to improve on our budgeting process, from formative to implementation stage, saying it must not only be transparent and fair, it must answer to the yearnings of the people.
As a way of acknowledging the transparent ideology and fiscal transparency effort of the state as led by His Excellency, the Honourable Commissioner received a meritorious award on behalf of His Excellency and state as the best in terms “Fiscal transparency” amongst the 6 states in the North Central region
As a matter of fact, the meeting is holding in lokoja because kogi state came first in the budget assessment indicator, scoring 100% amongst the 6 states in the North Central.
This remarkable feat is as result of Governor Yahaya Bello’s purposeful and result oriented leadership.
