GOVERNANCE: NYO ADVOCATES PARTICIPATORY POLICAL CULTURE FOR YOUTHS


 

The National President, Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO), Hon. Abdullali Abubakar Wali, has called for a participatory political culture of Nigerian Youths at all levels of Governance in the country.

Hon. Abdullahi Wali made this call on The occasion of the Celebration of the NATIONAL YOUTH DAY established to be observed annually every 1st November by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration.

According to him, such Programmes as the National Youth Day, the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) to the tune of N75 billion for Empowerment of Young Nigerians, shall go a long way at promoting active participation of Youths in political Leadership and economic self-reliance.

The President of the National Youth body reiterates the need to establish the National Youth Development Commission (NYDEC), as well as the nationwide Skills Acquisition Training Centres (SATRACs), as panacea towards finding lasting solutions to youth restiveness.

He pointed out that when established, the Commission shall serve as a less bureaucratic, and rapid response institution for interfacing between Government and the Youths on issues that bother on their contributions to National growth and development.
While calling on the Youths to take advantage of the Empowerment Programmes and Skills Acquisition Training, being planned by Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) and FEMATECHNOLOGY, it shall go a long way at equipping them to be prepared for opportunities to access National and International Funds, Assistance and Grants.
