Gov Sule intensifies war against insecurity …distributes Vehicles to Security agencies, others

In a bid to enhance the fight against insecurity in Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule has distributed assorted vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies in the state.
The Governor also provided vehicles to Ministries, Departments and Agencies ( MDAs) of Government and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Nasarawa State Council.
He equally distributed tractors to aid farmers’ cooperatives in the State.
While presenting keys of the vehicles tractors and motorcycles to beneficiaries at an event held at Government house in Lafia, he said it was part of his administration’s commitment to arm the beneficiaries with the required logistics that would enhance their operations.
He said, ” it is our believe that the vehicles to public officers will improve their dignity and enhance delivery of service towards the realisation of our policy objectives.
” Similarly, in our commitment to enhance a crime free society, this administration has continued to accord priority attention to the provision of security as a panacea for socio-economic development.
“This is why we have remained resolute in our provision of logistics support for our security agencies in the duty of protecting lives and properties of our citizens, hence the relative peace we are enjoying in the the state.
“It is heartwarming to state that in our quest to move from hoe and cutlass method of farming to mechanized agriculture, government has procured additional 30 number tractors for distribution to farmers in the state.”
Governor Sule further explained that the modalities for the distribution of the tractors to farmers’ cooperative organisations and other related groups were being worked out to ensure food security in the State.
He, therefore appealed to beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the vehicles and motorcycles in order to consolidate on his administration’s strides in the security of life and maintenance of property of the people of the state.
Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG), Barr Ubandoma Aliyu said the Governor Sule led administration since its inception in 2019, has procured and distributed 35 vehicles and 131 motorcycles to security agencies in the state.
” We have also procured 114 assorted vehicles and allocated them to state establishments. In the same vein, we have procured 23 tractors and allocated them to Local Governments Areas and other relevant agencies agencies to support our farmers”, he said.
The SSG said the total number vehicles comprised of 10 Jac Pickup vans, four Toyota Hilux vans, 10 Peugeot vans, two 18-seater buses, one 32-seater bus, two Toyota Camry salon cars, five Sharon mini space vans, a towing truck , an ambulance, 10 power bikes and 15 Bajaj motorcycles.
According to him, the state was one of the peaceful in the country and has attracted investors across the globe in various sectors of the economy.
