Her Excellency, Bishop (Dr.) Mrs. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, the Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, has called on Cross Riverians in the diaspora to play a greater role in the growth, development, and sustainability of the state.

Speaking during the August Meeting with the diaspora community, Her Excellency, who was accompanied by her Head of Protocol, Mrs. Alice Ndem JP, and other notable Cross Riverians, commended their outstanding contributions in various fields, including medicine, law, technology, and entrepreneurship.

She highlighted her initiatives, such as the Mmadiaha Care Health Scheme, which provides free health insurance and maternal care to indigent women and children, as well as programs addressing mental health, gender-based violence, and rural development.

Her Excellency passionately urged the diaspora community to adopt health centres, mentor startups, sponsor scholarships, and share Cross River’s unique stories globally.

“We are one family, one heritage, and one future,” she said, emphasizing that the state’s transformation requires collective effort from both home and abroad.

She expressed gratitude for their continued connection and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
