Gov. Ododo signs law restricting heavy duty trucks passing through Felele Road During the Day, 6 others into law
The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, has signed 7 bills into law.
Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo signed the bills into law at the Government House Lokoja, assured of political will to implement the laws to the latter.
Gov. Ododo described the laws are not just ordinary laws but one that will Shape the lives and well-being of the people of the State.
While promising that the laws is geared towards safety of lives and properties, improve revenue, land management as well allow for stronger grassroots democracy
The bills signed into laws include the Climate change law; Restrictions of heavy duty trucks passing through the metropolis during the day, the commodity exchange export law, Law establishing the bureau of Lands, a law
that repealed Kogi State Emergency Management,
Kogi State oil producing Area Development Commission law and a law repealling the 2024 electoral law and reenacting electoral law 2025.
Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Umar Aliyu, described as history making the signing of some of bills into law, pointing out that the State had since creation operated some Agencies without laws regulating their operations.
The Speaker particularly described the law to stop heavy duty trucks to run in the day time in the State as commendable said it will stop the frequent accidents on the Felele highway.
The Speaker lauded Gov. Ododo for making the people a priority in his administration.
The bills signed into law are all Executive bills.
