Gov. Ododo Redefines Women’s Inclusion in Kogi Governance

Hon. Oladele John Nihi, Special Adviser on Youth and Student Matters to the Kogi State Governor, recently welcomed executives from the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Nigeria), Kogi State Branch, to his office at the Government House in Lokoja.
During the engagement, Hon. Nihi emphasized Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s transformative approach to gender inclusivity, noting that the administration has not only surpassed the 35% Affirmative Action benchmark but has also expanded on the legacy of his predecessor to integrate women into pivotal governance roles.
Hon. Nihi lauded FIDA Nigeria’s Kogi Chapter for its unwavering advocacy for women’s and children’s rights, praising the organization for aligning with the state government’s efforts to advance social justice. “Your work embodies the values of equity and progress that Governor Ododo champions,” he remarked.
The FIDA delegation extended an invitation for Hon. Nihi to serve as a guest at their upcoming Children’s Day Competition—an event he gladly accepted. The initiative resonates with Governor Ododo’s commitment to fostering child welfare and development across the state.
Hon. Nihi reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening collaboration with FIDA and other stakeholders, stressing that empowering women and children remains central to the administration’s agenda. “Together, we can build a future where every voice in Kogi is heard and valued,” he concluded.
