Gov. Ododo needs time to address concerns over amended KOSOPADEC Law of July 2025 – Hon. Ojogbane Omale Uchola.

Hon. Ojogbane Omale Uchola has urged stakeholders to give Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo more time to address concerns over the amended Kogi State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (KOSOPADEC) Law of July 2025. Uchola assured that the governor has the capacity to resolve the issues and ensure the people of Ibaji Local Government Area receive their lawful rights and representation.
He made this statement after a World Press Conference by Ibaji stakeholders and concerned groups, emphasizing that the governor’s directive for an expanded stakeholders’ meeting requires more time. An Expanded Ibaji Stakeholders’ Meeting was held on September 30, 2025, at the residence of HRH (Dr.) John O. Egwemi, the Onu Ibaji, in response to the governor’s directive.
Uchola called for restraint from all stakeholders, assuring that the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 would be implemented and due process followed. He expressed confidence that Gov. Ododo would ensure the Ibaji people are not excluded or oppressed and that their rightful entitlements as host oil-producing communities would be realized.
