Ebonyi State Governor Chief Francis Nwifuru has sworn in twenty one appointees including senior special assistants and special assistants into his government.
He performed the swearing in ceremony at the State Exco chambers, Centenary City, Abakaliki.
The newly appointed aides are to take charge of security, primary education, primary health, documentation and new media.
The security aides were appointed from their different local Government Areas in the State with the view of ensuring the security of lives and property of the citizenry in those council areas.
Addressing the appointees shortly after the swearing in ceremony, the Governor congratulated them for making the list and urged them to rise to their responsibilities by making sure there is adequate peace and tranquility in all the nooks and crannies of the State.
The Governor who urged the appointees to be dedicated and committed to their duties for the peace atmosphere of the State, expressed optimism that the people would surmount all the security challenges in the State, adding that insecurities would be a thing of the past soon.
He assured to give leaders of the State the best as all sectors would be adequately equipped in due time and disclosed that he would announce his principal officers and that they will be sworn in on Tuesday next week.
The special assistant to the Governor on internal security Afikpo North Local Government Area Prince Obinna Okenyim and his counterpart of Ebonyi Local Government Area Mr Mbam Obinna, congratulated the Governor for finding them worthy to serve in his adminstration.
The duo assured the Governor of their preparedness towards delivering on their mandate as they vowed to ensure total peace and tranquility in their respective Local Government Areas noting that their adminstration would not give hoodlums the opportunities to operate in the State.
On his part, the special assistant to the Governor on Street Light Mr Sylvester Nwamini promised to ensure constant light in the State. He warned those who engaged in vandalism to stay out from the State as anybody caught would be made to face the full weight of the law.
In their word of exaltations, the chairperson of Abakaliki Local Government Area Mrs Lydia Obioma Nwogba and a business mogul Mr Ofunte Isiah commended Gov. Nwifuru for appointing their youths into his government. They urged the appointees to be of good conduct by serving faithfully with loyalty and uprightness to achieve the set objectives.
Mrs Nwogba urged Gov. Nwifuru to prioritize human capital development as the previous adminstration has done a lot in infrastructure.
