Gov Nwifuru commends Ebonyi industrialist over capacity building Programmes

The Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has commended the founder of Regina Pacis Foundation for his efforts in building people to be self dependent through the sustenance of his skill acquisition programmes in the State.

The Governor gave the commendation during the 2023 Regina Pacis Foundation Annual Festival and church thanksgiving at Regina Pacis Village, Okpoduma Nwofe Agbaja in Izzi Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor represented at the event by the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Chief Moses Odunwa encouraged Ebonyians to key into the foundation’s skills acquisition in order to be self reliance instead of waiting for white cola job.

Governor Nwifuru also used the opportunity to congratulate Catholic diocese of Abakaliki on its fifty years anniversary of existence and enjoined Nigerians to remain more committed to the things of God inspite of all odds, saying that with God the ugly situation facing the Country would soon be thing of the past.

On his part, the founder of Regina Pacis Foundation and chief Executive of Edon group of companies Arch. Edward Nkwegu called for curriculum reformation in the educational system in the Country, adding knowledge is power, while saying that the foundation deemed it necessary to be giving people a second chance through teaching of financial education in order to become self dependent in the society for their own interest.

The chairman board of trustees, Regina Pacis Foundation, Reverend Father John Paul Nwankwo, the chairman of the event Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh and an elder statesman Chief Goddy Ogbaga commended Chief Edward Nkwegu for his efforts in keeping the candle of the foundation burning irrespective of the present economic crisis facing the Nation and prayed God to continue giving him more wisdom and strength as he continue piloting the affairs of the Foundation in the State.

Adding their voices, the three traditional rulers representing Izhi Nnodo clan in Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State chapter Eze Cyprian Nwekee, Eze Augustine Nwego and Eze Simeon Aziewa Okorie urged youths of Izhi clan and beyond to emulate Chief Edward Nkwegu humanitarian gesture and key into the foundation for sustenance of their future life.

Earlier in a sermon, the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese Most Reverend Peter Nworie Chukwu represented by the Episcopal Vicar of Abakaliki Diocese, Rev. Father Godwin Uguru admonished Christians to form the habit of thanksgiving to God at all times and promised that the church would be praying for the founder of the Foundation.

He urged well to do individuals to emulate the attitude of Chief Edward Nkwegu towards the growth of the church and humanity.

The event was attended by top government functionaries.
