The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones has officially received the newly appointed Vice Chancellor Federal University, Lokoja Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi on behalf of Gov. Yahaya Bello the executive Governor of Kogi State.
The Vice Chancellor officially assumed office today 15th February, 2021, with the Commissioner reiterating the State government’s support to the Education Sector.
The Commissioner mentioned that under the present administration, education has witnessed a turnaround at all levels of education, said the administration has surpassed past efforts by previous administration in building a viable education sector.
Hon. Wemi Jones described the assumption of the Vice Chancellor as a historic feat, urged Prof Akinwumi Olayemi to take the institution to another heights of development.
The Commissioner reiterated the state government support to the FUL, promised a partnership that would reposition the institution for greater and rewarding challenges.
In the entourage of the Honorable Commissioner was Pastor Emmmanuel Idenyi the permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Director Tertiary and Continue Education, Mrs Bolu Clara and some staffers of the Ministry.
