Ganaja Road: Engr. Ohere Passionately Appeals to FG To Intervene, Reorder Contractors Back to Site.


 

Describes As Unbearable Sufferings Faced By Motorists, Residents

The Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has described the sufferings faced by Motorists plying the Ganaja road and residents of the Community as unbearable.

Engr. Ohere expressed worry at the pain motorists and residents living on the Ganaja road corridor face, appealed to the Federal Government to please consider the plights faced by the people following the sudden disengagement of the contractors handling the work from the Ganaja Junction to Ganaja Village road to intervene and reorder the contractors back to site.

Engr. Ohere in the strong worded statement of appeal he signed and issued to newsman, passionately begged the Federal Government to come to the aid of the motorists whom he explained are presently going through a harrowing experience and excruciating pain due to the difficulty and hardship caused by the road.

The Commissioner said the sufferings and hardships the motorists plying the Ganaja road face owing to the disengagement from Site by the contractors can best be imagined, passionately appealed to the FG to as a matter of urgency consider the plights of the people by redirecting the contractors back to site.

While pointing out that the efforts by FG to rehabilitate the road was received with joy and optimism by the Government and people of the state, however expressed dismay that the motorists and resident Community are now living in harrowing experience owing to incessant break down of vehicles on the road and the health hazard the dust from the road poses to the health of the residents.

While the Works Commissioner commended the FG for considering the rehabilitation of the road before it was abandoned, appealed to the Federal Government to order the Contractors handling the road to return to site, described the plights of motorists and residents of the community as unimaginable.

The Commissioner expressed dismay that the disengagement of the Contractors from the site has caused untold hardship to motorists and the residents, described traveling through the a little above seven kilometres road as a nightmare to motorists, while the community lament the dangers it faces inhaling dust on daily basis.

Engr. Ohere expressed displeasure that the sudden disengagement by the contractors from the road is not in the best interest of the State, motorists and resident, described the location of the Ganaja road as too strategic to the socio economy of the People, State, pointed out that the road also serves as a gateway from the North to the Eastern part of the country.

The Commissioner urged the FG to consider the unbearable sufferings faced by the motorists and residents of the community, urged to urgently intervene so as to ensure that work on the road is completed.
