FUL VC Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi says I’m ready to change the narratives, Partners NTA Lokoja


 

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi says he is ready to change the narratives of the Institution in becoming the envy of other Universities in country.

 

Prof. Akinwunmi made the disclosure when he received in audience the Management of the Nigerian Television Authority Lokoja in his office today, described the FUL as the rave of the moment.

 

The Vice Chancellor said what was upper most on his mind when he emerged as the first indigenous Vice Chancellor of the University was to do things that would make the Institution a top class Institution of learning in the country.

The Vice Chancellor reiterated his commitment to sound quality teaching and learning environment, using available resources within and outside the Institution to do things differently, promised to make FUL a top class Institution of learning in Nigeria.

He said under his leadership the Institution has taken a new look, expressed satisfaction that so far, the FUL has opened new frontiers of academic excellence with improved infrastructure.

He added that aside the full accreditation of courses in the Institution, he has established new departments that promotes entrepreneurship education, saying that his vision for the Institution is for graduates to be self employed and reliant, expressed satisfaction that the University so far tops amongst top universities created alongside it by former President Goodluck Jonathan, second best in the North Central States and amongst the top ten in the country.

He solicited the support of the Management of the Nigerian Television Authority Lokoja in the new new department of Mass Communication that has taken off in the Institution, urged for a partnership that would make the Mass Communication graduates renowned broadcasters.

Prof. Akinwunmi said he would require the support of the NTA Lokoja in teaching and training of the Mass Communication students towards making the students and graduates to be top class broadcasters, solicited the use of their manpower and facilities where necessary.

The Vice Chancellor urged the NTA Management to partner with the Institution by creating a student platform, organizing
special programs for the young undergraduates, said the FUL is ready for partnership on all programs of the Institution.

Earlier in a remarks, the General Manager of the Nigerian Television Authority Lokoja, Alh. Yahaya Adams, praised the Vice Chancellor of the FUL for the new lease of life the Institution is witnessing.

He praised his efforts in improving the quality of learning in the Institution as well as in the infrastructure development the Institution has witnessed, urged for a partnership that would enable the NTA Lokoja project and propagate the good works ongoing in the FUL…. Continue reading
