The Forum of ethnic Nationalities in Edo State has condemned in strong terms the plans by the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to impeach his Deputy, Comr. Philip Shaibu.
The Forum in a Press Statement issued to Newsmen, plans to occupy Edo State after the weekend if the Governor continues with the plot.
According to the statement, the convener of the forum, Comrade Babafemi Adeleke, said Mr. Godwin Obaseki would not have been reelected as the governor of Edo State if not for the influence and personality of Comrade Phillip Shaibu.
“The Leadership of the Forum of ethnic Nationalities in Edo State totally condemn the desperate, wicked and orchestrated move by the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to impeach his loyal and workaholic deputy Governor, Comrade Phillip Shaibu.
“We gave our votes to Mr. Obaseki because of the dynamic leadership qualities of Comrade Phillip Shaibu who is a known friend of the masses.
“Aside his love for foreign suits, Obaseki has nothing to offer Edo State in the last Seven years in the State
“It is very unfortunate that Obaseki is rewarding his loyal and performing deputy Governor with impeachment’, the statement reads.
