
Former Kogi SDP Governorship Running Mate Likely to Dump Party, Sets to Join APC.

Hon. Sam Abenemi, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the last Kogi 2023 election may likely dump the SDP to join the All Progressive Congress (APC)
The Nigerian Post Newspaper confirmed that some prominent members of the ruling APC in the State are already making overtures to former running mate to Alhaji Muritala Ajaka.
The former running mate to Ajaka at the weekend met with Asiwaju Asiru Idris as part of his consultation moves ahead his final defection.
Hon. Abenemi was ran as running mate to Alhaji Muritala Ajaka on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last election.
According to close aides to the Kogi State Commissioner For Finance Commissioner, the APC is bent on having the SDP running mate in view of his political experience, expected to be a valuable asset to the APC ahead the 2027 election.
Though the SDP running mate is yet to make confirmation on the speculation, it believed by the APC that adding that having him in the APC would guarantee stupendous support for the ruling party
Hon. Abenemi was former Chairman Lokoja LGA, served as SIEC Commissioner under late Prince Abubakar Audu, was appointed Commissioner For Water Resources. It was during his tenure that the greater Lokoja Water works project was initiated.
Similarly, Hon. Sam served as Deputy State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, before joining the SDP as running mate to Alhaji Muritala Ajaka in 2023.
Hon. Sam hails from Igbonla, Oworo district of Lokoja LGA, is a Grassroots Politician with organic followers, is a strategist and intellectually upwardly mobile in the politics of the State.
