
Parents have been called upon to take good care of there children with Clubfoot by bringing them from age 0-5years to Federal Medical Center, Lokoja for free non-operative care.
The Focal person,”Miracle-feet/straight child foundation “Dr Sunday Olaniyan stated this while declaring open “World Clubfoot Day” in Lokoja.
Dr Olaniyan said with the help of the Spanish Surgeon Ignatius Conseti’s technique on clubfoot which is non-operative, the result is close to hundred percent on children treated.
The Focal person further explained that most patients cannot afford the bill for the treatment before now due to lack of fund and however thanked the “Miracle Feet Foundation”in collaboration with Federal Medical Center Lokoja for coming to the aid of patients with Clubfoot through sponsorship.
He pointed out that Miracle Feet are joint parents in the United States of America whose children have this congenital deformity Clubfoot and felt they could give back to the society through creating awareness for others to benefit what there children benefited from, adding that the clubfoot treatment is totally free for children with free transport fare back to there destinations.
Dr Olaniyan further added that FMC lokoja is lucky to be one of the six clubfoot treatment centers created for free treatment in Nigeria and hereby called on parents to bring children with Clubfoot from all parts of the state to benefit from this window opportunity.
Earlier the Head of Clinical Services (HCS),Dr Ododo Itopa on behalf of the Chief Medical Director (CMD),Dr Tunde Alabi called on all and sundry to avail themselves the opportunity at there doorstep by helping Clubfoot children’s destiny to be fulfilled by correcting the Clubfoot deformity.
A beneficiary of the Clubfoot treatment,Mrs Atawali,mother of Joel Atawali further showed appreciation to Miracle Feet/straight child foundation for the free treatment saying the result is almost hundred percent within the shortest period of treatment and equally regards this as a miracle calling on mother’s to use this opportunity as fast as possible.
