FLOOD: KOGI TRADITIONAL RULER CALLS FOR GLOBAL SUPPORT ON REPTILE ATTACK


 

The traditional ruler of the Adankolo community in Kogi State, Chief Ameh Ubonujo has called on the global community to come to their aid and rescue them from the incessant snake bite occasioned by the recent flood in Kogi State.

 

The traditional Leader noted that the flood submerged and condemned their transformer leaving the community with total darkness, adding that the snakes brought by the flood are attacking his people at night as a result of the total blackout.

Chief Ameh appealed to Government, Non-Governmental organisations, global communities, Private Organisations and well-to-do individuals to donate solar-powered lights to his community to disperse the reptiles at night.

In his words, “the recent flood in the state has brought a lot of snakes from the bush to my community, they were flooded down from far and near and now we can not go out at night. Our transformer has been submerged and condemned by the flood leaving us with total darkness. We are appealing to the global communities to assist us with the suply of solar powered light even if it is not upto 20 poles, so that we can erect it in different places within the community in order to create illumination that disperse the snakes from crawling all over the community in the night” he said
