FIRST DAY IN OFFICE:
LENT AND RAMADAN MESSAGE TO THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, on behalf of Management, conveys his sincere greetings and heartfelt wishes to the entire University community at the commencement of the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan.
This year presents a remarkable and symbolic moment, as the Christian and Muslim faithful commence their fasting seasons simultaneously. This convergence, significant in both religious traditions, reflects the spirit of unity in diversity that defines our University.
For our Christian community, Lent is a season of prayer, reflection, sacrifice, and renewal; a call to humility, compassion, and service. For our Muslim community, Ramadan is a sacred month of fasting, devotion, charity, discipline, and heightened spiritual consciousness; a time of self-purification, generosity, and strengthened faith.
The Vice-Chancellor calls on all members of the University to use this period for renewed commitment to peace, mutual respect, institutional solidarity, and sustained prayers for the continued growth and stability of our University.
Unity remains indispensable to progress.
