FGYB, Olushola Saraki of Kogi Politics; He Worked For It – Chief Asaje
A prominent leader in Kogi West Senatorial District, Chief Richard Asaje, has described Former Governor Yahaya Bello as the “Olushola Saraki of Kogi Politics”, noting that former Governor Yahaya Bello worked for it.
Chief Asaje made the disclosure in an interview with Newsmen in Lokoja, Kogi State, debunked circulating rumors in some quarters that “We have (two) Governors in Kogi”.
According to him, Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo is the only servant leader in the State, while Mr Yahaya Bello is the “Olushola Saraki of Kogi Politics”, and Ododo’s political ‘godfather’ known to his supporters as “White-Lion”. The popularity of Yahaya Bello is what nobody can undermine, he said.
Speaking further, he stressed that FGYB has a huge and critical Stakeholder grassroots support base for Governor Ododo to coast home to victory across the state, particularly in his home town, Okene.
Recalled that during the campaign “Ododo for Governor”, Mr Yahaya Bello posters on billboards was the biggest. Becoming the leader, he worked for it. By his antecedents, His governorship was the beginning of a process of a significant shift in Kogi’s governance and infrastructure.
That Ododo allowed FGYB to be his Man Friday in Lugard House is reasonable.
Many monuments have been built in honor of the man Yahaya Bello. He is acclaimed as the political genius of our time, the “Olushola Saraki of Kogi Politics”, who not only engineered the taming of the PDP juggernauts in the State, he caged it and confined it to the backwaters.
Yahaya Bello was known as an unrepentant advocate for the unity of the State “EBIGO AGENDA”. He is a bridge – builder across all the divides in the State. he added.
Mr Yahaya Bello is held in high esteem, loved by many, and admired also for his tenacity and audacity in the face of challenge and for using his extensive network to back candidates for office..
It is not yet clear what could have been responsible for the attempted attack on Mr Yahaya Bello.
I often wonder why people marvel at the continuous rapport between Yahaya Bello and Ododo.
Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo knows the essence of keeping the doors permanently open to people of political significance, Asaje opined.
FGYB is not what miscreants try to make him appear. He is gifted, street – wise politicians. He has the common touch.
The people of Kogi will always remember him for the courage, the colour that he brought to governance, and the stomach infrastructure that he offered.. The “Flower Boy” of Kogi is certainly doing well, he concluded.
