President Mohammadu Buhari has approved the Appointment of Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman as the new Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Idah, according to a statement signed by the Registrar of the Institution, Abdulkadir Baba.
BRIEF ON DR. YAHAYA BABA USMAN
Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman was born on 5th August, 1968 and hails from Olamaboro Local Goverment Area of Kogi State.
He attended Feceral University of Technology, Minna, Niger State for his B.Sc. in Statistics ara the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria for his Ph D
He is a Fellow of Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMOD) and member, Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA) and Professional Statistics Society of Nigeria (PSSN).
Dr Usman started his working career as Assistant Lecturer at Federal Polytechnic, Idah between 1997 – 1998 before transferring hs seevices to The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa in 1998 where he rose through the ranks to become Chief Lecturer on 1st January, 2017.
The academic scholar has contributed immensely in knowledge through in the nation in both local and foreign journals and attended various local and international
conferences and workshops of repute.
He has also bagged various distinction awards and honours in his fields of endeavour at different fora.
Dr Usman Is currently the Director, Academic Planning, Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa since 2019,
The appointment is for a single term of five years with effect from the date he assumes office.
The Polytechnic Community Is hereby, called upon to give the new Rector all necessary cooperation and support to move the Polytechnic to greater heights.
