FCT Minister of State, SSA to Kogi State Gov. On Electronic Media bags Kogi project for good governance award


 

The Minister of state for Federal Capital Territory, Hajia Ramatu Tijani Aliyu has called on the well to do members in the country to continue to render assistance to the less privileged in their Community, to reduce unemployment and mitigate against poverty.

 

The Minister was speaking in Lokoja on Saturday, shortly after receiving an award of Icon of Humanitarian services of the Kogi Projector for Good Governance, (KPGG), for her various life touching Programmes and interventions

The Minister who was represented by one of her aide, Habibat Bello commended the group for this laudable initiative which she said was geared towards lifting the youths from the unemployment market through it’s skill acquisution Programmes.

She charged them to continue to sustain the tempo, assuring that she would continue to render help to less privileged persons in her Community and beyond, adding that she would be partnering with the Kogi project for good governance for effective service delivery.

Speaking also, the Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi state governor on Electronic Media, Billie Avoyi Nwogu, who is one of the awardees, charged the graduands to put to use what they have learnt to make them self reliant.

According to her, the award would spur her to continue to render more humanitarian services to the people, stressing that all hands must be on deck to help the needy since government alone cannot do it.

The Clerk of the Kogi state House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa-Amoka, tasked members of the Kogi Projector for Good Governance not to relent in their efforts to make the society a better one.

He called on stakeholders and well to do persons in the society to rally round the organization to pull more young people and women from the labour market and abject poverty.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of Kogi Projector for Good Governance, David Isah Ohinoyi, said the group is a non governmental Oganization, whose major objective is to take off hundreds of unemployed youths from the street by training them in various skills.

He said the effort of the organization is to complement the state government’s efforts aimed at creating employment and make the women and youths to become self reliant.

Other awardees include; professor Mariyetu Tenuche, Vice Chancellor, PAAU, Dr. Shaibu Umar Oricha, DG Government House, professor Isah Adagiri, CMD, Kogi specialists Hospital.
