EXPLOSION IN KABBA: LAWMAKER COMMISERATES WITH VICTIMS, APPEAL FOR CALM, CALLS FOR THOROUGH INVESTIGATION


 

Following the unfortunate fire explosion that took place in Kabba, headquarters of Kabba-Bunu LGA in Kogi state, yesterday, which led to the death of persons, causing various degrees of burns on some people and destruction of properties, Hon. TeeJay Yusuf has commiserated with victims, and appealed for calm, law and order even as he charge relevant security and law enforcement agencies to unravel the mysteries surrounding the incident.

 

In a statement issued Thursday, Hon. TeeJay Yusuf who represents Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives expressed his, “heartfelt condolences with persons who died, and commiserates with other victims who sustained injuries and others who lost various properties in the very unfortunate fire explosion. It is not only shocking but terribly painful that such disastrous incident could happen.”

Speaking further, Hon. Yusuf enjoined, “the good people of Kabba, particularly relations, friends and acquaintances of victims to be calm and not engage in acts that may be unlawful and illegal. In same breath, I wish to stridently request that relevant security and law enforcement agencies embark on very thorough, intensive and detailed investigations towards unraveling the truth about the unfortunate incident.”

The lawmaker promised to give financial support to victims of the fire explosion, “though no amount of money can be commensurate with lives and properties lost, as well as body injuries to victims, i have sent some money to meet some immediate needs of the victims. God willing, I hope to offer more support towards improving their psychological, emotional, physical and health conditions.”
