Explain rational for buying vehicles for another tier of Government, Comr. Miliki Challenge Kogi Government.
The Executive Director, Conscience for human rights and Conflict resolution, Comr. Idris Miliki has asked the Kogi State Government to explain the rational for buying vehicles for another tier of Government.
Comr. Miliki made the disclosure in a statement shortly after the State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo unveiled new vehicles for Council Chairmen in the State, said it has called to question the autonomy of the Local Government.
“Local Government Administration is another tier of government. The state government should not have been they one buying vehicles, for local government officials”.
“Who approved the budget? now that we have elected local government Administration with legislative structures why is the encroachment”.
” This is happening despite the effort for Local Government autonomy as well as the Supreme Court Judgement. It is unfortunate that the State Government continue to undermine the local government autonomy”.
