An appeal has been made to Civil Society Organizations in Kogi State to identify the various levels actors and their interest, influence and perceived priorities to focus upon in promoting Gender Responsive Budgeting.

National Program Manager, FIDA Nigeria, made the disclosure at a presentation, Introduction to Power Analysis at a Two Day Capacity Building Workshop For Civil Society Organizations/State Actors on Gender Responsive Budgeting.
The Capacity Building Workshop is holding in Lokoja urged CSOs to always embark on stakeholders Analysis Quadrant to advocate for GRB, urged for the identification of promoters, who are people with high influence.
While pointing out that an understanding of Power, Analysis and it influence in promoting GRB says the need to identify the interest of influencers has become expedient in promoting GRB.
The Resource Person urged the CSOs to look out for stakeholders who are Defenders, said they are mostly activists in getting advocacy right that would influence and promote issues affecting GRB.
Similarly, the Resource Person advocated the identification of people considered as latent stakeholders, saying such people have high influence but have low interest towards influencing GRB.
Mr. Fikih also identified Apathetic stakeholders in promoting GRB, said they are people with low influence and low interest, however said identifying them would help in promoting GRB.
Towards policy Influence that would promote GRB, Mr. Fikih said while it is important to identify visible powers, identifying invisible powers also would go a long way in creating stories for long and short term.
Mr. Fikih concluded by calling on CSOs to use the power of influence in setting agenda, said the best way of pushing interest in promoting issues of Gender is to have an understanding of Gender Issues.
The FIDA workshop holding in Lokoja is supported by the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room and funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
