Ogori town in Ogori Magongo Local Government Area last thursday and Friday witnessed an unusual visitors as the funeral ceremonies of the father of the Executive Editor of The Graphic Newspaper, Pa. Zacheus Ojueni Oyewole raised dust in the ancient town of Ogori.
The funeral service of Pa Oyewole was preceded with service of songs at his family compound on thursday evening. Friends and relations paid glowing tributes to Papa’s positive legacies in the community and places he served during his time in the civil service.
The final funeral service was held at the popular Ogori civic center on Friday December 9, 2022. The hall was filled as well wishers throng to have a glimpse of the gasket which bore the remains of Pa Oyewole.
The Commissioner of Information, Evang. Kingsley Fanwo and the Permanent Secretary, Teddy Adebola led the ministry of information delegation while the Managing Director of The Graphic newspaper, Mr Adekolade Dele Samuel led the newspaper delegation to the funeral.
In a funeral oration, the commisioner of Information, Kingsley Fanwo said the late Mr. Zacheus Ojueni Oyewole lived a life worthy of emulation. He added that all the children are living worthy lives in their various chosen career saying it is a clear testimony of the life the deceased lived while he was alive.
The Commissioner admonished the children to continue to live the worthy life their father lived while he was alive.
One of the sons of the deceased who doubles as the Executive Editor of The Graphic newspaper, Mr James Oyewole gave a vivid testimony of the disciplined and hard working life his father lived while on earth. He noted that his father raised his children with a goal to educate them to the Doctorate degree level .
Mr. Oyewole stated that the father gave his service to his community including the students and school he served as a teacher before he retired from the civil service. He maintained that the family has lost a gem who will continue to be remembered for the good life he lived while he was alive.
In a funeral message, Rev. John Ajayi Abiodun preached on a sermon he titled “Prepare for the Lord”. He admonished the crowd which attended the funeral ceremony to eschew the mundane values of the world and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ
