The Vice Chancellor, Edo State University Uzairue, Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor has reiterated the commitment of management to ensure that all programmes offered by the institution are completed within the stipulated time frame.

He made the assertion at the 6th matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted five hundred and ninety three (593) students in the 2020/2021 academic session .

Earlier,   the Vice Chancellor of the university,  while presiding over the  matriculation, said the school  management is committed in ensuring that all programmes offered by the institution are completed within the stipulated time frame.

The vice chancellor also listed  some of the institution’s achievements to include its ranking as 3rd in Nigeria and best amongst the state owned universities in the 2018 Open Educational Resources Ranking of Nigerian universities by the National Universities Commission (NUC), first in Nigeria to own an Anatomage, which is the most advanced digital device for the training of medical students and first university in Nigeria and West Africa to acquire the CANVAS Learning Management System (LMS) for teaching.

Again, the  Vice Chancellor,  encouraged students to make the best use of the facilities provided in the university to become grounded and employable after graduation just as he warned against acts that are inimical to the university environment and the society at large.

“We as a university have made a commitment to run all our programmes within the stipulated time for the progammes. You can attest to the fact that we have kept faith with this commitment for our undergraduates; despite the COVID19 pandemic, we graduated our students in 2020 as planned”, he emphasized.

While congratulating the new students for their successful admission into the world class university, Prof. Aluyor called on the parents to make use of the Learning Management System (LMS) to monitor their wards academic performance at home.

Parents, guardians as well as guests from far and near, including a former Chief of Staff to former Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Mike Ogiadomhe, were on ground to share happy moments with the celebrants.
Chief Ogiadomhe, who spoke to newsmen advised the students to direct their energies to the course for which they are in the university and savour the environment so that in the end they will be found worthy in character and in learning.

According to him, “this is one of the best universities we have in the country as at today by standards and I will like it to be the best university in Nigeria”.

Mrs Patience Remison described the university as a wonderful place to be, just as another parent, Felix Oni is impressed by the teaching programme of the university and conduct of students, adding that he is particularly satisfied and enjoying the safety of having his son in the university environment.

A total of five Hundred and Ninety Three (593) Students which includes post graduate were Matriculated into  the 2020/2021 academic session .
