Era when people think, reach out only to themselves, family members is long gone if we want a society not too hot to live in – Hon. Paul Ukwenya, MD Lounge 1.


 

Nigerians have been advised to make touching lives in positive ways a part of their lives if the want a better society.

 

The Managing Director, Lounge 1, a leading entertainment and hospitality industry in Lokoja, Hon. Paul Ukwenya, gave the charge at the presentation of a wheel chair and start up capital to Saratu Abdullahi, urged citizens not to wait for government to do all for the people.

 

While pointing out that Lounge 1 maybe leading in the entertainment and hospitality industry, said it has chosen to partner with government to put smiles on the faces of the people through her social corporate responsibility support.

The Managing Director stressed that his organization would continue to impact lives in more positive ways for People With Disabilities, Challenged Nigerians to be of help in whatever little way the can, thanked Challenged Parenthood Initiatives for taking the initiative to discover Saratu.

The Managing Director described Saratu as just one example of many with disabilities, challenged Nigerians who need help, urged Nigerians to be there brothers keeper if they want to live in a safe society.

 

Hon. Ukwenya charged Nigerians not to necessarily reach out to PWD alone, but many who are also in need of means of livilihood, pointing out that if citizens don’t do what is expected of them, it would make the society too hot a place for people to live in.

While promising not to stop at the support of a wheel chair, the Managing Director also presented the sum of N50,000 as start up capital, urged Nigerians to be the agent of change need for a better society.

The Managing Director thanked Gov. Bello for not resting on his oars in ensuring a safe Kogi State, said because the security agencies are over stretched, many may not feel the impact, appreciated the security agencies for doing more to save lives.

Earlier in her remarks, the Executive Director, Challenged Parenthood Initiatives, Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, said she was moved by the plight of Saratu Abdullahi, reason why she sought collaboration to put smiles on her faces.

Aside the wheel chair, start up capital to enable her learn skills in tailoring would be made available to her, assured that other necessary support for her to own a business of her on is being worked out.

Filled with tears of joy, Saratu Abdullahi, expressed appreciation to the MD CEO of Lounge 1 and Executive Director, CPI for the initiative, promised to justify the support in learning skill to become self reliant and stop street begging.

Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of the wheel chair and start up capital to Saratu Abdullahi by the Managing Director, Lounge 1, Hon. Paul Ukwenya.
