Enough of Illegality, Rascality in Kogi PDP, Swear me in immediately as Chairman – Hon. Muhammad Sani Gambo.
Hon. Muhammad Sani Gambo, has asked the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party to swear him in as the State Chairman of the Party.
Speaking at a Press Conference held at the NUJ Press Centre Lokoja, described Hon Enemona Anyebe as an imposter, called on Security Agencies in the State to arrest him any where he parades himself.
According to him in
Speech he said:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, let me welcome you to this briefing aimed at seeking for justice, equity and fairness.
This Press Conference has become very necessary towards salvaging our party from the imminent collapse and the landmines the illegality and impunity that the purported Chairmanship of Hon. Enemona Anyebe is about to cause to the PDP.
Let me quickly State that his purporting to be the Chairman of Kogi PDP is not only criminal, it has made the PDP a laughing stock amongst comity of civilized people in Nigeria. This must not be allowed to happen because the imminent breakdown of law and order may also be inherent if he is allowed to continue to assume what he is not.
The crude manner jointly masterminded by Hon. Enemona Anyebe and his sponsors to take over, through military style the leadership of PDP in Kogi State lives much to be desired.
This is even more worrisome that Kogites, Nigerians and the world looks up to the PDP at this moment to salvage Nigeria from the precipice of outright destruction. Unfortunately, it is surprising that these haters of democracy are trying to undermine the will of the PDP members in Kogi State.
The need for the principle of
fairness, justice and equity, to reflect in our conduct and activities particularly as an opposition Political Party must not be compromised. We are a Country and people guided by the rule of law and the time to call a spade-a-spade, no matter whose ox is gored is now in Kogi State.
Recalled that the last PDP State Congress in Kogi
State was free and fair and the
outcome well accepted by all the contestants except
for one position, the office of the State Chairman, where a court order barred Hon. Enemona Anyebe, the person parading himself as Chairman now from contesting and presenting himself for screening.
The Party was asked not to screen him, all because of the court order and ruling that was yet to be vacated before the Congress and as we speak.
We are however worried that Hon.
Enemona Anyebe, the purported State Chairman who was suspended by the Party first by his Local Government Executives, affirmed by the State
Executives in 2019 and again by his Wards Executives in 2024, all on account of anti-party, affirmed by a court ruling that supported the various suspension, now presides over the affairs of our Party in the State.
We are all aware also that it was from the Ward Executives that the usurper Chairman was dragged to the Court.
We therefore wonder how Hon. Enemona Anyebe could have become the State Party Chairman when the nomination form that was sold to him to Contest as Chairman was withdrawn by the COURT ORDER via Suit No.
HC/OKP/54M/2024 of the Kogi State High Court.
We are also aware that Hon. Enemona approached a Kogi State High Court with prayers to vacate the COURT ORDER via
Motion Nos. HCL/372M/2024 and HCL/379M/2024
respectively. But his appeals were dismissed.
That Hon. Enemona Anyebe was
declared the winner of an election he was not a participant, but was quickly sworn in 9.00a.m. Sunday morning, following a Saturday election he was not supposed to have contested by the strength of an order of a court of competent jurisdiction is another wonder of the world that will go down into the Guinness books of record.
The call for the National Working Committee of our Party, particularly the Acting National Chairman, the Secretary, Organising Secretary and Legal Adviser to do the needful has therefore become very expedient before we run into trouble waters.
This absurdity, impunity, illegality and brazen disregard for the laws of the land as contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic and the pronouncements by a court of competent jurisdiction must be adhered to and not allow Hon. Enemona to run a banana Republic.
Let me use these medium to call on the PDP Governors Forum, the PDP National Assembly Members of our Party. The Critical Stakeholders of the PDP in the Country and in Kogi State to the attention of the brazen disregard for the rule of law and the impunity and injustice that is being perpetrated in the State PDP that must stop forthwith.
Enough is enough, we will not continue to condone this naked and crude illegality by one man over the laws of the Federal Republic, PDP Constitution and the pronouncements of a competent court, globally respected.
I call on the National Working Committee of our Party to immediately perform my swearing-in as the State Chairman of Kogi State PDP with immediate effect and to enable me assume the responsibility of repositioning our Party for victory ahead the 2027 General election.
The consequences of allowing the illegality that is being perpetuated in the Kogi State PDP by a few portends serious danger awaiting the party in the coming days as Enemona Anyebe who is parading himself as purported Chairman is an impostor
It is important to draw the attention of the PDP Stakeholders at both the National and State level to the fact that every action that has and is being performed by the Hon. Enemona led PDP is contemptuous and lacks merit.
I’m using this medium to urge the security agencies in the State to quickly arrest and prosecute Hon. Enemona Anyebe as his continued occupation of the office of the Kogi State PDP Chairman is Illegal and in flagrant disobedience to the orders of the Court.
Let me State that if effort is not made in the next few days to call to order, arrest and prosecute Hon. Enemona for going against the laws of the land as well as his brazen disregard for the NWC, I will in the next few days run a parallel State Party Executives.
The illegality associated with having Enemona Anyebe as Chairman, having not been duly elected, having been barred from contesting by a court order through an injunction that was not vacated is criminal and a crime against humanity, particularly for law abiding members of the PDP in Kogi State who have remained in the Party as founding members.
It is public knowledge that in Suit No: HC OKP/54/2024, brought before a Kogi State High Court following the suspension of the purported Chairman from his Ward, the PDP was asked to retrieve the PDP Chairmanship Nomination form issued to Hon. Enemona pending the determination of the suit which till date still subsist.
Having therefore emerged as runner up, it behoves on the NWC to swear me in without let or hindrance. It is important to place on record that the Court order which debarred Hon. Enemona from contesting in the said PDP Congress has become public knowledge implying that any interested party or person within and outside PDP can use it to upturn any primaries conducted under his leprous hand.
The PDP was asked not to screen Hon. Enemona for the said Congress. He was also asked by the Court not to parade himself as a member of the party while the Party was also asked not to recognize him as a PDP Member having been suspended and barred from contesting for any election. Why is the Party turning a blind eyes to all of the illegality of having him parading himself as Chairman.
The Kogi PDP is sitting on a time bomb that would soon explode, if the continued occupation of the office of the Chairman by an illegal occupant is allowed. This occupation is criminal, a flagrant abuse of Court order as stipulated by the laws of Nigeria and the PDP.
Let me add that it was because the office of the State PDP Chairman was not recognized by the NWC. That was the reason why the other State officers were inaugurated by the NWC. The failed to include the office of the Chairman and that of his Deputy because they knew that no one was elected to that office. How come Hon. Enemona emerged. I ought to have been sworn in as the Kogi State PDP Chairman as the runner up.
Let me further add that the recent presentation of flags to candidates of our Party that took part in the last Kogi State Local Government Election by Hon. Enemona was another failed charade that would have met a brick wall if challenged legally. This is because you can’t put something on nothing. Hon. Enemona has no powers to have handed over flags to the candidates. This is illegal, highest level of impunity and an insult to the sensibility of the PDP.
Similarly, Hon. Enemona was seen in a picture where he attended NWC meeting in Abuja with the National Acting Chairman of the PDP and the 36 States Chairmen, where he Hon. Enemona formally introduced himself as Kogi State Chairman. For the records. Enemona and his Co-travellers must be stopped forthwith from embarrassing our party to avoid untoward circumstances as no one has monopoly of mischief.
This is illegality taking too far and must not be condone. Even though he was said to have sneaked into the meeting, we urge that the same PDP that failed to screen him to Contest at the Congress and failed to Inaugurate him will allow him attend their meeting. Henceforth, he should not be seen in any meeting Organised by the National PDP.
I therefore call on the Kogi State PDP again and for the umpteenth time to be warned that except the right leadership is entrenched, Kogi State PDP may go the way of Zamfara and other states that lost seats and candidates who won elections owing to the illegal occupation of the office of the Chairman by an usurper.
I call on the Peoples Democratic Party to adhere to the Constitution of the Country and the Party. Enough is enough of this rascality that is neck deep in the Kogi State Chapter of the Party.
The ongoing shenanigans within the party would no longer be condone. We therefore want to bring to an end the continued impunity in the Kogi State PDP. This act of illegality in Kogi PDP is becoming unbecoming. I am the duly elected Kogi State Chairman of PDP and should be sworn in as the Kogi State Chairman with immediate effect.
Court orders are supreme and obeyed anywhere in the world. The Kogi State scenario cannot be different. Enough is enough of injustice and impunity, we can no longer take it. I Hon. Muhammad Sani Gambo is the Kogi State duly elected PDP Chairman and should be sworn in immediately.
