Engr. Bashir Gegu is widely recognized for his unwavering loyalty, particularly to former Governor Yahaya Bello and now in his commitment to serving Kogi State, under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Overall, Engr. Bashir Gegu embodies commitment, strategic leadership, and loyalty, positioning him as a significant figure in Kogi State’s governance and development landscape.

Engr. Bashiru is one politician who’s key attributes is Loyalty. His dedication to former Governor Yahaya Bello is notable; he’s seen as steadfast and trustworthy.

Engr. Bash as he is fondly called has become a household name in Kogi politics since his appointment by the immediate past administration of Governor Yahaya Bello. Engr. Bashiru remains a staunch loyalist of bosses he works with.

Indeed, Engr Bashir Gegu is a blessing to the government and the people of Kogi State in general. His impact bestrode the political landscape of Lokoja/Koton karfe politics with his brilliance and generous gesture across the State too.

As Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru’s driving initiatives is to tap Kogi’s rich mineral deposits, remains his cardinal priority.

Engr. Bash is a Chemical Engineer of repute, is known for his courage, exemplified by past actions like leading vigilantes against kidnappers in Koton karfe, has a personality that catches the fancy of all stakeholders – Traditional rulers, professionals, women, youths and the political class in general. Engr. Bash in the politics of Lokoja Kogi LGA has become a rallying point to a very large extent.

Very intellectually sound and mobile in capacity, Engr. Bashiru is a graduate of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is simplicity personified.

His unavowed loyalty to any cause he believes in, a feat he has shown in time past and he has continued to demonstrate when he stands on the side of his principal, fairness and Justice.

Engr Bashiru is committed to attracting development to the state through robust policies that are geared towards taking advantage of the Ministry he supervises for the benefit every Kogites.

One quality you can take away from Engr Bashiru inspite his position is his humility and pragmatism despite the position he has attained. His achievements and roles in helping to push for robust policies, equipment, and licenses to exploit Kogi’s minerals like gold, lithium, limestone, coal has made Kogi State under Gov Usman Ododo, now the Tourism destination.

Working closely with Gov. Ododo, just like he in the past earned the trust of former Gov Bello and now enjoying same under Gov. Ododo, his full grasp of the understanding the vision and mission of his Principal, has helped in reducing Kogi’s reliance on federal allocations through mining sector growth.

An all rounder, Engr. Bashiru is a multi tasking personality, fits in special assignments. Reason why his past involvement in local security efforts, showcases his proactive stance.

Bashir Gegu’s doggedness, pragmatism in many things he makes up his mind to do stands him out. Call him a philanthropists, it is a record that in Kogi LGA, an area that has produced many politicians, no one in terms of impact can compare with his efforts at always putting smiles on the faces of the vulnerable and less privilege in the society.

Having earned government trust, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo so believes in him that he is giving the necessary support to the commissioner to thrive in his operation. Little wonder the ministry of solid minerals continues to be one of the cornerstones of Kogi’s commitment to ensuring the resources of Kogi State work for its citizens. The duo have become a catalyst sired from the Yahaya Bello political family for the good of the entire Kogi people.

Aside the initial 15 Mining licenses the State acquired, and commissioned some mining equipments, another 15 mining licenses, bringing thr total mining license to 30 is Commendable.

It is therefore not out of place to say that Kogi joined the league of states taking advantage of solid minerals development, marking the beginning of a new phase in the state’s economic transformation under the servant leadership of Gov. Ododo.

Kogi State is blessed with vast mineral deposits, including gold, lithium, limestone, coal among over 30 other solid minerals in commercial quantities which remains largely untapped, a challenge the Commissioner seems to have overcome.

Beyond the statutory allocation, with the licenses, Kogi is set to begin large-scale exploration and mining, ensuring sustainable economic growth, creating job opportunities and improving the livelihoods of its people through mining.
