ENGR. ABUBAKAR BASHIR GEGU LAUNCHES NATIVE BOY CARE INITIATIVE, PAYS SCHOOL FEES FOR 20 INDIGENT STUDENTS OF KOGI STATE POLYTECHNIC LOKOJA

In line with the people-centered vision of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the “Touching Lives” agenda of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Native Boy Care Initiative (NBCI) was officially launched today in Lokoja.

As its first major intervention, the Native Boy Care Initiative paid the full school fees of 20 indigent students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. The gesture is aimed at easing the financial burden on families, keeping youths in school, and providing them with a solid foundation to contribute meaningfully to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.

Speaking on the launch, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, Founder of the Native Boy Care Initiative stated that the Initiative is a grassroots-driven platform committed to uplifting the lives of ordinary Nigerians, with special focus on the youths.
“The Initiative is built on the belief that ‘From the Grassroots, For the People’. We are proud sons of this soil, and it is our duty to care for our own and build a brighter future for the next generation,” Engr. Badhir Gegu said.
He further disclosed that the payment of school fees for 20 students is just the beginning. “Many more empowerment schemes are underway under the Native Boy Care Initiative, including SME grants, agricultural support, and vocational training for youths across Kogi State.”
Engr. Bashir appreciated the committee for their diligence in identifying genuine beneficiaries, and thanked President Tinubu and Governor Ododo for providing the leadership that inspires citizens to give back.
He charged the beneficiaries to “use this opportunity well. Study hard, stay focused, and become leaders that will make us proud.”
