End in Sight for Water Woes in Ukowa Uvete, Ateba Communities as Government Flags Off Key Projects
Residents of Ukowa Uvete and Ateba communities in Kogi State are celebrating a major milestone as the government flags off key water projects aimed at ending their long-standing water crisis. The projects, approved by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, include rehabilitating a broken-down water facility in Ukowa Uvete and constructing a new one in Ateba.[¹](https://kogiacresalproject.ng/)
The General Manager of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA), Alhaji (Chief) Momoh Dauda, described the intervention as “timely and necessary,” noting that women and children have borne the brunt of the challenge for too long.

– _Rehabilitation of Ukowa Uvete Water Facility_: A broken-down facility will be restored to provide clean water.
– _Construction of Ateba Water Facility_: A brand-new facility will be built to meet the community’s water needs.
– _Funding_: 100% funded by the Kogi State Government.
– _Community Contribution_: Communities will contribute to implementing other components of their Community Development Plans.
The projects are expected to be completed within two weeks, marking the second anniversary of Governor Ododo’s administration. Residents are optimistic that this will bring lasting relief and improve their living conditions.
