Election: Follow Path of honour, Amb. Nihi Oladele Appeals to SDP Governorship Candidate

Youths of Kogi State have appealed to Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party Governorship Candidate to follow the path of honour by accepting the outcome of the election like Sen. Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate or approach the election petition tribunal to seek redress.

 

Amb. Oladele Nihi, former Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria and presently Vice for Youth in Africa made the appeal during a protest by youth of the State in Lokoja today.

Nihi urged other contestants to seek redress as well as maintain the highest level of discipline, described the election as one of the freest and fairest election in the State.

” Kogi State belongs to all of us”, appealed to the SDP Governorship Candidate not to burn down the State.

” We the Youths will protect the result of the Governorship election. We appeal to Youths to be calm. Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has emerged and he has promised to be governor for all”.

” He has promised to carry everyone along irrespective of party affiliation. We equally want to thank Gov. Yahaya Bello for his fatherly role and for building bridges all through his tenure. We must commend him for his fairness in wealth distribution”.

The Youth Leader expressed appreciation with the level of professionalism displayed by security agencies before, during and after the election, ” Since the rumour of the planned burning down of INEC”, said security agencies have done a lot in protecting INEC office in Lokoja.

” We must commend the security agencies for ensuring a free fair and credible election. They have maintained the highest level of discipline by given right and liberty to movement in the State”.

The Youth Leader praised President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for creating the enabling environment for a free, fair and credible election in the State.

Speaking on behalf of women, Mrs Eunice Olukomogbo said as women they are resolved to protect the mandate given to the APC Governor Elect.

” The election in the State was the freest we have ever had. A candidate has emerged. We are using this medium to appeal to Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka not to instigate people against INEC by causing problem”.

” We are worried as women that his utterances and those of his supporters can set the State ablaze”, appealed for caution.

The Woman leader praised the security agencies for their professionalism before, during and after the election, described the election as the best ever conducted in the State.
