Ekuzi House Project: Engr. Bashiru Gegu Donates N15m, Assures Community of Consistent Support.

 

The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources Engr Bashiru Gegu, has reiterated his commitment to always support communities in an around Kogi LGA.

 

The Commissioner made the disclosure while clearing the air on the donation he made at the just concluded launching in support the Ekuzi Progressive Association’s Unity House permanent site Project.

The Commissioner disclosed that there is a misleading report in the media over his donation at the Ekuzi House Project, pointing out that he donated N15m to the project and redeemed same at the venue of the occasion during the launching.

According to him he has remained an unrepentant supporter to the people of Akuzi Community in all their efforts at community projects, pointing out that his recent donation is not the first, assured of more partnership towards other communities that embark on self help projects.

The Commissioner while giving the breakdown of his support to Akuzi Community stated that he donated N1m on behalf of his Traditional Ruler, N2m on behalf of his wife who hails from Akuzi Community, N1m on behalf of his political associates, another N1m on behalf of all the State Political appointees of the State from Kogi LGA added that he personal made a N10m donation on behalf of himself.

While pointing out that he remains grateful to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo who found him worthy of service, said he will continue to serve as a servant leader to the people of Kogi LGA.

He further disclosed that his donation was paid immediately at the venue of the event, recalled that, that has always been his trade in stock to fulfill his promises whenever he makes pronouncement.

He called on the people of Kogi LGA to remain united in their support for Gov. Ododo now and in 2027, pointing out that the people oriented leadership style of administration of the Governor, was what informed Kogi LGA to be the first to endorse the Governor for a second term.

The Commissioner declared Kogi LGA as a no go area for other political parties in view of the support it has enjoyed under the present administration, urged the people to be weary of fifth columnists who are bent on using mischief to gain relevance.

The Ekuzi Unity House permanent site is located at Agbudu along Okpareke Okofi Road, is a key project for the community’s development effort.

Recalled that through his effort, Engr Bashiru was able to during the occasion announce a N5m support from the Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi, N2m from Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye, Member Representing Lokoja Kogi federal Constituency, Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye.

This year’s launching of the Ekuzi Unity House Permanent site project held in Agbudu community of Kogi LGA at the weekend.

The Ohimegye Igu Kingdom HRM Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, who also attended the event urged the people to be united in self help projects.

Highlights of the event at the Ekuzi Progressive Association Unity House Project was the conferment of the Chieftaincy titles of Madaki Kaura Ekuzi on Engineer Bashir Gegu in recognition of his generosity over time to the community.

It would also be recalled that Engr. Bashiru has consistently been in the forefront for supporting communities in Kogi LGA, thus helping to reposition the All Progressives Congress Party as the dominant political party in the Local Government Area, with daily defection into the APC from opposition political parties.

Highlights of the Ekuzi House Project was the foundation laying by the Commissioner and his conferment with the reverred Chieftaincy title of Madaki Kaura Ekuzi.
