
Ekiti Governorship Poll: Group Cautions PDP Against Admitting Strange Aspirants

People Democratic Party PDP support group in Ekiti state, the Democratic Collective Group (DCG) has urged the member of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ekiti State to be wary of strange individuals within it’s fold.
Specifically, the DCG urged the PDP to be wary of those who might be coming forward to pick it’s governorship ticket ahead of next Year’s governorship election.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, the state capital on Monday by the National Coordinator, Francis Biodun Aluko, the group warned the PDP not to allow the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC hijack the party ahead of the poll.
“We,, members of the DCG urged the leadership of our party, the PDP to be wary of strange individuals who will be making their ways into the party.
“We are saying this because of the intelligence that we have gathered in the last few days of the attempts being made by the APC to sponsor candidates within our party,” the statement reads.
Going further, Aluko on behalf of the group stated that the APC has perfected plans to sponsor candidates, particularly the younger brother of the Chief of Army, one Oluwole Oluyede to contest the ticket of the party.
“We have it on good authority that the APC has been working day and night to plant aspirants within the PDP with a view to using it to distabilise it.
“One of such people being propelled is one Oluwole Oluyede whom he heard has been primed to pick up the ticket of the PDP and afterwards withdraw from the race to soften the grounds for the APC,'” the statement reads.
The group however urged the PDP to be mindful of the fact that God has placed it at a vantage position to rescue the state from misrule and bad governance.
“We are appealing to them, not to betray the collective trust of the Ekiti people on this regards,” the statement concluded.
