Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Governor of Kogi State has distributed rice to the people at the grassroots.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Salami Momodu Ozigi who was represented by the Technical Assistant to the Commissioner, Elder Alfa Arome at the occasion stated that the distribution of rice was the directive by Alhaji Yahaya Bello, said it is part of move to cushion the biting attendant effects of fuel subsidy removal which has provoked the present unfriendly economic situation in the country.
Presenting the bags of rice to officials from the 21 Local Government Areas of the State, he expressed the governor’s desire to see that the people at the grassroots have a happy Salah celebration.
Elder Arome described Alhaji Yahaya Bello as amiable, humane, kindhearted and benevolent and commended him for being there for the grassroots populace at every turn of events adding that the people at the grassroots had never had it so good.
He urged the local government representatives to share the items as instructed for the people at the grassroots to feel the impact of Governor Yahaya Bello’s Administration once again.
Local government representatives in their various responses expressed deep appreciation to Gov Bello described him as a caring Leader.
According to them, Governor Yahaya Bello in the last one month has distributed educational materials to schools, agricultural imputes for farmers and now rice for the totality of people at the grassroots, said the gesture has cut the cost of food for the people during this period.
In a special prayer session for Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the representatives of the local government areas prayed God to strengthen, protect Gov. Bello and for sustained peace of the State.
