A Chieftain of the ruling party in Kogi state the All Progressives Congress,Engr. Andrew Onu Adama has felicitated with the state executive governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, members of his cabinet, Muslim brethren ,and the totality of the populace for the celebration of this year’s [2023] Eid El-Fitri festival which climaxed the completion of the weeks- long Ramadan fast.
Engr. Andrew Onu Adama in message of felicitation to Muslim Ummah and non Muslims alike which was made available to Newsmen in Lokoja tasked them to imbibe the teaching and preaching learnt during the Ramadan fast to permeate them.
“The self-restraint, sacrifice,self discipline and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end following the end of the Ramadan fast but be maintained and improved upon,in order to be a better person and true followers of of holy prophet Muhammad [SAW],” Andrew advised.
The humanist urged Muslim community and entire citizens to use the occasion to reflect on the state of the nation and live in peace with one another.
Engr.Andrew Onu Adama admonished the celebrants to emulate the righteousness,and virtues of prophet Muhammad[SAW] asserting that the essence of the celebration was to offer sacrifice , express and extend love , for a peaceful co-existence in the state and the country as a whole.
His words: i urge Muslims and Kogites on this suspicious occasion of the celebration of Eid El-Fitri festival to live exemplary and peaceful lives with one another according to the dictates of Islam saying that we must demonstrate the core values of peace, love, tolerance, forgiveness, sacrifice that the celebration embodies”.
Engr.Andrew Onu Adama advised those in positions of trust especially the incoming administration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima to adopt models and policies that will urgently address economic retardation, insecurity, infrastructural deficit,under development, and unemployment challenges bedeviling the country and its citizens.
He reminded Muslim Ummah and the citizens that Eid El-Fitri festival is not a season of merry making or jamboree alone but season of deep sober reflection and Felicitates the muslem ‘UMMAH and indeed the entire muslem world on the auspicious occasion of 1444AH.eid-Ul -fitri , praying to Allah to grant everyone the opportunity to witness many more of it.
