EDSU Matriculation 757 Students,  Warn Against Any Act Of Hooliganism

The newly admitted students of Edo State University Uzairue have been advised to shun any act of hooliganism, use of  illicit drugs of whatever name like Indian hemp, Colorado, skunk, heroine etc.

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor gave the advice over the weekend during the 7th matriculation of the university, adding that rather they should make the best use of the available facilities so that they can become well-grounded and employable after graduation from the university.

The Vice Chancellor stated that of all the candidates offered admission by JAMB to study at the university, only 683 students and 74 students who have transferred from other various universities to the Edo State University Uzairue were cleared as qualified to study in their chosen fields.

He said that the university has since achieved numerous mile stones since over its 6 years of existence such as the 3rd best university in Nigeria in the 2018 Open Education Resources ranking by the National Universities Commission, 4th best university in Nigeria by Times Higher Education ranking 2021 among others.

Prof. Aluyor further revealed that it is on record that the university is the first university to own an Anotomage for the training of medical students in Nigeria and the first in Nigeria and West Africa to acquire the CANVAS Learning Management System for teaching in the university.

While congratulating the new students for being the chosen one to be part of the university community of an emerging World class university, urged parents to be partners in progress by monitoring the activity and performance of their children in terms of class attendance, text, assignment etc through CANVAS Learning management System.

According to him, “CANVAS Learning management System afford you the opportunity to check on your ward’s performance in the university by actively using the parents section of the learning management System”.
