Edo State House of Assembly  Passed  2022 Appropriation Bill Of #222,570,004,035.71 billion For The Fiscal Year.

The Passage Followed The Consideration Of The Report Of The House Committee On Appropriation Chaired By The Deputy Whip Hon. Ephraim Aluebhosele.

The House at the committee of a whole considered and adopted a one point recommendation from the report of the standing committee on Appropriation and project monitoring on the 2022 appropriation Bill and Budget estimates .

The Budget size was adjusted from two hundred and fourteen point two billion naira for the 2022 fiscal year to 222.5 billion naira to include a recurrent expenditure of 92.4 billion naira with capital expenditure pegged at 130.8 billion naira.

The House also at the committee of supply considered the enactment , Title clauses and other critical components of the year 2022 appropriation Bill.
Giving a progress report, the Speaker Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun directed the Clerk of the House to accord the Bill it’s third reading while clean copies of the Bill be forwarded to the State Governor Mr Godwin Obaseki for his assent.

In his remark to round off legislative activities for the third quarter, third session of the seventh Assembly, the Speaker Marcus Onobun said the sixty day sitting period saw the passage of 4 Bills, with five others at different stages of completion while eight petitions were treated.

The House during plenary also approved the request by Governor Obaseki of a discounted bridging finance facility of fifteen point two billion naira from first Bank Plc.
This was sequel to a legislative approval granted on the 4th of November, 2021for the state government to be credited in tranches of the sum of Fifteen point two Billion Naira.

The Speaker, Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun directed the clerk Audu Yahaya Omogbai to forward copies of the resolution to the Gov Obaseki and other relevant agencies for necessary action.
