The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State has called on Muslims faithful in the state and Nigeria to keep hope alive for a better Nigeria.
The Chairman, PDP, Edo State chapter, Dr Tony Aziegbemi who started this in a press statement issued in Benin City said that this period calls for prayers among Nigerians in overcoming the hydra-headed challenges confronting the nation.
He called on Muslim faithful to exhibit a high degree of tolerance, perseverance; sacrifice and love which he noted are some of the lessons of the Ramadan period.
Dr. Tony Aziegbemi also used the opportunity to call on the privileged people in our society to reach out to the poor who could not afford one square meal a day.
“I want to use the Ramadan celebration to felicitate with Muslims in Edo State and Nigeria at large, to congratulate them on the successful completion of the month long Ramadan fast.
“This period also calls for deep reflection among well—meaning Nigerians to pray for unity of the Country especially in the face of the daunting economic and security challenge facing the Country” .
He further urged Muslims adherents to show love and compassion among others as demonstrated by Holy Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) and work towards the peace and progress of Edo State and Nigeria as they celebrate
