Center For Ethics and Self Value Orientation, a non governmental organization based in Lokoja, Kogi state, has honoured the Edo state Labour Party Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi on Friday the 21st of June 2023, with an award of Ethical Leadership & Conduct Compliance Certificate in Benin city the Edo state Capital.
In a release signed and made available to the Press by the Labour Party publicity Secretary and image maker, Comrade Sam Oroupa, said the award is a testament of the upright conduct of the party and its officials whose conduct he described as above board.
The Internationally acclaimed Non- governmental Organization with specialty in anti-corruption, promoting ethical conduct and leadership, providing ethical education and self – value orientation have, in their independent, discrete investigations and findings, devoid of any external interferences found the State Chairman of Labour Party, comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, worthy of the award of Ethical Leadership & Conduct Compliance Certificate and to henceforth bear the honorific title of; Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION) with effect from this day 21/6/2023.
The letter conveying the award reads in parts, “Having conferred an award of (IION) on you, the issuance of Ethical Leadership & Conduct Compliance certificate with your enlistment amongst the top (50) highly rated most ethically responsible first Class Traditional Rulers in Nigeria 2022/2023, the Board of Trustees and management of the Center do hereby grant you an authority to henceforth add to your name our Honorific title indicated above”
“This is in recognition of your commitment to community /humanity service, integrity, National interest, due process compliance, innovativeness, emotional intelligence, participatory management style, party harmony, conflicts prevention and management, peace building, transparency / accountable leadership, professional ethics compliance and ethical uprightness in Political Party management and administration”.
While decorating and presenting the award to the recipient in Benin City, the Executive Director of the Center, Ethicist (Prince) Salih Musa Yakubu revealed that the center has professionally trained agents across the 36 states of Nigeria and beyond who discretely carry out thorough and rigorous investigations on individuals and corporate bodies with a view to ascertaining their level of transparency and accountability.
Ethicist (Prince) Salih Musa Yakubu revealed that it was based on the reports of the diligent covert investigations of the organization’s whistle blowers, that the State Chairman of Labour Party, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, was found to have passed all their secret tests on him and therefore found worthy to be conferred with such highly exalted honour.
Similarly, the Center equally presented to the State Secretary of the party, comrade Dr. Frederick Akhere, LETTER OF COMMENDATION FOR OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ETHICS COMPLIANCE / QUALITY SERVICE DELIVERY IN POLITICAL PARTY ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT IN NIGERIA.
According to the letter, “Upon the conclusion of the 16 months independent secret assessment program to 774 LGAs in Nigeria, you were one of the top 100 senior officers of Political parties recommended for this commendation by our whistle blowers after the exercise in your place of primary assignment hence this letter”.
Reacting to the development, the Publicity Secretary and image maker of the Party,
Comrade Sam Uroupa, said that they were very proud and happy that the the Party officials are bringing so much honour to the party.
According to him, ” as a party, we are proud of our Chairman and the Secretary for bringing us this honors. This has further invalidated the mudslingers who make unfounded and unverifiable allegations of corruption against our chairman and the party.
” I have said earlier in several fora that comrade Ogbaloi belongs to the class of Eagle whose place is far above the sky.
The assessment of this independent investigators is a clear testament of the high moral pedestal of the impeccable and unblemished strength of character of the nobleness of our Party Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi and other officials of our great Party which is built on the structure and strength of decorum, integrity, unparalleled rule of law and unrelenting transparency.
“According to the center, Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) scored 74% in a Cumulative Corporate assessment and is ranked 1st in South/ South and top 10 in Nigeria.
“Little did we know that an internationally recognized independent anti-corruption body has been beaming its searchlight on us but to the glory of God they have found us not wanting but upright and transparent in our dealings.
He further added that, ” Let me once again use this medium to assure our party members and our teeming supporters and the great youths of Edo state and Nigeria in general, that as the leopard can not change its spots so also Edo Labour Party can never deviate from its innate ideological principles of taking
back our country and Edo State in particular come 2024 through democratic principles premised on the values ingrained in honesty, integrity, equity, transparency and the rule of law”, he concluded.
