Concerned Elders and youths of Iguoshodin – Nebudin community in Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State have appealed to sons and daughters of the community to join hand in developing the community.
The call was made by the community people at the
Iguoshodin – Nebudin Community Town Hall in Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State.
Speaking, Pa. Omoragbon Uwuigbe (Ozukpogieva), second in command of the community said, those who were disturbing the peace have been arrested by the Police and they have been remanded in Prison custody.
He appealed to all sons and daughters of the community to join him and the elders to repair the Iguoshodin – Nebudin as to ensure that development comes to the community.
” We appeal to His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin Kingdom to come to our aid as his fatherly support will unit the people of the community.
” I was born and brought up here, my parents lived and died here, I am not driving any one, am only appealing to everyone to come and join me and the people of the community to ensure peace and unity reign in our land.”
Also speaking, the Community General Secretary, Mr William Edokpolo , said, ” we were driven away in the year 2021 by some of those that have been arrested now. It was the present of Police from Ekiadolor some of the Youths came and started shooting and drove everybody away.
He mentioned some of those who were responsible for the crisis as , Henry Osawaru, James Iguele, Pa John Igbinedion.
He said, ” they forged papers and told lies against the Palace of the Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, by claiming that the Palace gave them papers to be the leaders of the community. It was later discovered not to be true that nothing like that was given to them from the Palace of the Omo N’Oba.”
He pleaded with His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin Kingdom to confirm Pa Omoragbon Uwuigbe as the Odionwere of the Community.
“The confirmation of Pa Omoragbon Uwuigbe As Odionwere is the easiest way to address the myriad of problems and land grabbing at Iguoshodin Nebudin community.
“We appeal to His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin Kingdom to please confirm Pa. Omoragbon Uwuigbe (Ozukpogieva), second in command of the community as the new odionwere since the former odionwere have passed on”.
Also lending her voice, one of the women leaders in the community, Esther Ojo Osaigbovo, appealed to all to join hand together to develop Iguoshodin Nebudin community.
She said, the Odionwere did not drive anybody away from the community, saying we are one family, hence the need to come together and ensure that peace and unity comes to the community.
