Edo: Angry Youths Lynched Robbery Suspect To Death

Angry youths on Wednesday night lynched a robbery suspect to death for breaking into a premises along the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Road in Ugbowo Quarters , Egor Local Government Council Area of Edo state.

It was gathered that the suspect met his waterloo when the youths in the area, went after a four man robbery gang who specialise in robbing residents of their money and other valuables in the area.

Luck however ran out of one the suspects who was found with arms and ammunition , when the youths in their numbers chased and apprehended him, in a bid to escape with others after a botched robbery operation in the locality.

The suspect whose identify could not be ascertained was beaten to a pulp and about to be set ablaze by the angry youths but was spared following the intervention of a viligance group.

All effort to resuscitate the suspect proved abortive as the suspect was reported to have died following the heavy beating he received from the community youths before the arrival of police officers.

Effort to get the state police public relations officer, Chidi Nwabuzor comment on the incident was unsuccessful as his telephone number was unavailable at the time of filing this report.
