As the build up to the Edo 2024 continues to blink its eyes in symbolic expectation of who succeeds Governor Obaseki, the name, Engineer Gideon Ikhine like the Eagle, is destined to land on top of the highest mountain.
There is no doubt that the political activities geared towards the 2024 Governorship election has gathered so much momentum despite the fact that INEC is yet to release guidelines ahead of the state Guber election.
However based on our findings around the three sensational District, Edo people and other stakeholders in the state are seriously yearning for the best candidate that will eventually emerge as governor come 2024 Edo Governorship election to transform the state to an enviable position. These people are looking for competent person whose vision and experience is in tandem with that of the people.
While many people are worried about the growing numbers of aspirants in all the major political parties in the state, some equally believe that those who will shake the political atmosphere are yet to indicate Interest or come into the race.
But having the opportunity to meet with some political stakeholders across the three Senatorial Districts one political giant in the state who continues to crop up in the minds of many because they believe so much in the capacity of Engr Gideon Ikhine. They are only praying that he joins the race as quickly as possible to enable them give their open support for his Governorship project.

With over 33 years of professional experience following his qualification, Gideon Ikhine has excelled as both a leader and an engineer. Throughout his career, he has seized opportunities in various sectors, encompassing both the public and private domains, and has successfully executed numerous projects.
All these have enriched his expertise, capacity and experience. During his tenure as a project engineer at SPDC, he tackled challenging assignments within the demanding and swampy terrain of Niger-Delta. Some of these noteworthy projects involved the construction of roads and bridges, Oil & Gas platform locations among others.
Since Ikhine joined APC, the party is witnessing exodus of people from other political parties in Edo Central and other Senatorial Districts. This simply shows his political weight in the zone which he has started extending to other Senatorial Districts. In all, APC has become the latest beneficiary. Therefore, it is only wise for his party to encourage and persuade this man of great vision to join the race and prepare for resounding victory come next year Edo Governorship election.
Engr. Ikhine is very much abreast with the problems in Edo State, having toured the 192 political wards in the state when he contested the Governorship election in 2020, before he was persuaded by his party leaders to step down for Governor Godwin Obaseki.
