The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya MD Farouk, MNSE, MNICE has felicitated with the Christian community in Lokoja in particular on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration, calling on the faithful to use the period to pray for the continued peace and stability of the state as well as the country in general.
In his goodwill message the Water Resources Commissioner noted that the Easter period provided an opportunity for unity of purpose, reinforcement of bond of brotherhood and dedication in service to God and humanity as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He said Easter symbolised love, sacrifice, service to God and country as well as triumph of good over evil, urging the people of the State in general to always reflect on the lessons and significance of the season and demonstrate same in their lives.
“On this occasion of Easter feast, I want to enjoin our Christian brothers and sisters in Kogi State and Lokoja in particular to continue to promote peace and good neighbourliness.
I want to also urge you to remain steadfast in prayers and continue to sacrifice for the good and advancement of our dear state under the leadership of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
“I also call on you to continue to pray fervently for the success of the administration of Gov Ododo. The Country as a whole is indeed in a trying moment economically but I am optimistic that with collective commitment, sacrifice and by turning to God through prayers, we shall overcome all the trials and emerge stronger,” he said.
The Commissioner congratulated Gov Ododo and members of the State Executive Council, the entire citizens of the State for witnessing yet another Easter celebration in good health, peace and prosperity assuring that all efforts needed to make water available in all homes is in on top gear, solicited patience, understanding, partnership and collaboration on the path of the citizens in ensuring that Government meets it objectives.
